I hope everyone had a great 2011! Each year, after the calendar changes, I put together a review of all the bucks, bears, bulls, birds, and more, that everyone has taken and post them together. Click on the “Read the rest of the entry” below and scroll through the 2011 season on the Weekend Bowhunter website.
Personally, this was a great year for me. But there were some great animals taken this year by friends and family: Troy Elam’s 367″ elk, Dad’s 342″ elk, Shawn Wood’s 170″ mule deer, Paul Schultheis’ and Darin Ball’s 160+” California muleys, just to name a few. Thanks everyone for sending your photos and making this a wonderful year! Enjoy the Pics below…

Jody Cyr Black Bear 2011
Once again, Jody Cyr fills his tag! Jody has punched his last Oregon tag for the year by taking this great black bear. One of the most successful bowhunters I know, Jody never seems to come home with a unfilled tag and this year is no exception.
Congratulations on a great season in the woods and thanks for keeping us updated on your adventures!

Relentless365 Magazine
Hey everyone, hope your hunting seasons are going well. Make sure to check out the latest issue of Relentless365, which is on newsstands now. My current column, In-Sight, is on the benefits/drawbacks to hunting wilderness areas alone. It can be the best–and worst–time you will ever have hunting!
To learn where you can find the magazine, or for more information about California’s Premier Hunting magazine, go to http://www.relentless365.com/.

Shawn Wood Black Bear 2011
Good buddy Shawn Wood sent me this photo after his recent hunt in Northern California. Shawn’s .300 Win Mag made quick work on his first bear in the Golden State. With a full hunting schedule the rest of this fall, I’m sure this will not be the last picture we see from him.

Doug Rosin Black Bear 2011
Congratulations to Doug Rosin on taking this beautiful black bear on a recent backpack bowhunt. Doug was deep in a wilderness area in Northern California when he came across this skunk-colored bear and one shot at 32 yards from his Hoyt sealed the deal.
Outside of being one of the shots I know, Doug is a hardcore hunter and makes several trips to the backcountry each year. Enjoy the great looking rug this bear will provide!
If you have any success photos from hunts you would like to share, please send them to zwalton5@hotmail.com. Good luck!
