If you haven’t seen the video of Hoyt’s “Torture Test” on the new Carbon Matrix bow, you are missing an impressive display of durability. Several Hoyt employees use a bow as a crash-test dummy and spend several minutes driving over the Carbon Matrix like a monster truck driver surrounded by junk cars.

This past Sunday, I conducted my own “Torture Test.” Although, mine was not intentional. Read the rest of this entry »

                     Zack’s Target Setup

With target season in full swing, I thought I would share the setup I’m shooting this spring. Until a couple years ago, I shot my hunting bow for all the tournaments. By the end of every day, my body was aching from pulling 70 pounds more than 100 times. Now, I have dedicated a bow to just punching paper.

That’s why I try to shot as many competitions throughout the spring as I can. Not only do I fling thousands of arrow during these months, target archery forces me to focus much more intensely than shooting in the backyard by yourself. Read the rest of this entry »

Posted on: March 1st, 2010 Utah Extends Application Period

After suffering heavy traffic in the last several hours of the original application period, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources suffered technical difficulties in the online application system. Because of this, the application period has been extended until 11 p.m. on March 8, 2010.

This was the original cut-off for bonus point applications. Now, hunters have been given an extra week to ensure everyone attempting to apply for Utah’s draw has the opportunity. Here is the link to apply: http://wildlife.utah.gov/.
