Are you tired of the 70s-style shag that blankets your living room like a sea of unwanted ground cover? I’ve got two words for you–carpet bale. Rip out that eyesore and put it to good use.
That’s what I and my good friend, Peter, just finished doing. With an abundance of worn-out carpet, we decided on a size and started constructing. It was relatively easy to do and the result is a long-lasting arrow stopper that cost a fraction of a comparably sized target from major manufactures. Read the rest of this entry »
The California Department of Fish and Game recently issued a press release about an Elk Grove man facing hunting violations for allegedly buying antlers on eBay and claiming he shot the animals himself.
The press release reads, “Coleman Lee Houston, 29, allegedly used the online auction site to purchase two very large sets of deer antlers from sellers in Colorado.”
In the state of California it is illegal to purchase animal parts. The release continues, “Fish and Game laws prohibit the sale or barter of any fish or wildlife or parts thereof. A formal complaint will be filed with the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, charging Houston with the purchase of wildlife parts; submitting false information on his deer tags; failing to exhibit animals, tags and antlers to a game warden upon demand; and destruction of evidence. A misdemeanor conviction carries a maximum fine of $1,000 and up to six months in jail.” Read the rest of this entry »
